Description of Thread Temperature Resistance Benefits
Stainless Steel 800ºC 1472ºF High temperature and flame resistance
Cotton-bound Stainless Steel 800ºC 1472ºF High temperature and flame resistant steel core combined with cotton covering designed to facilitate easier machine sewing
PTFE Coated Glass 550ºC 1022ºF Excellent temperature resistance combined with PTFE coating to facilitate easier machine sewing
Nomex 500ºC 932ºF Inherently flame retardant and heat resistant with a tough protective coating which resists abrasion during the sewing operation
Kevlar 220ºC 428ºF Good temperature resistance combined with superb tensile strength for easy machine sewing
Bonded Nylon 120ºC 248ºF Tough coated thread with abrasion resistance, rot proofing and good tensile strength for lower temperature applications
Bonded Polyester 120ºC 248ºF Tough coated thread with abrasion resistance, rot proofing and exceptional tensile strength for lower temperatures but heavier duty sewing operations
